Martin Fisher is an American actor, singer, and martial artist originally from Camden, New Jersey. Martin most recently appeared with the Pacific Symphony as Alfred P. Doolittle in their concert performances of My Fair Lady in Costa Mesa, CA. He previously performed the role with the First National Tour of My Fair Lady on Broadway, directed by Bartlett Sher. He is the first Black actor in history to portray Doolittle. Other notable roles include Ol’ Brother in MVP, a multimedia stage play directed by Mario Van Peebles, based on the life of his father, the iconic film director Melvin Van Peebles.  Off Broadway: The Sporting Life of Icarus Jones (The Drama League).

Fisher previously appeared in the films A Complete Unknown, directed by James Mangold, Pulpitum, Waiting for Aphrodite and Hold. Upcoming theatrical releases include I Play Rocky and Stranglehold. Television credits include recurring roles on American Rust (Prime Video) and Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Only Murders in the Building, Monsterland (HULU);  Special Ops: Lioness (Paramount+); American Sports Story: Gladiators (FX); Dope Thief, Extrapolations(AppleTV+);FBI: Most Wanted,Elsbeth, Blue Bloods (CBS); New Amsterdam, and The Blacklist (NBC). He studied theater at the Black Arts Intensive founded by Stephen McKinley Henderson, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Phylicia Rashad, Michele Shay and Sonia Sanchez at the Stella Adler School of Acting in New York, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Massachusetts in Amherst with an Individual Concentration in Pre-Architecture: Theory and History.

He can be heard on the album Barrelhouse to Broadway, which won a Grammy Award for Best Producer.

Fisher’s operatic repertoire includes: Escamillo (Carmen), Valentin (Faust), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Marcello (La Boheme), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), Tonio (i Pagliacci), Scarpia (Tosca), Orest (Elektra), Crown (Porgy and Bess) as well as the great Verdi baritone roles of Germont (La Traviata), Amonasro (Aida), Miller (Luisa Miller), Count di Luna (il Trovatore), and the title role in Rigoletto

Martin has a black belt in Taekwondo.
